Confirmation Class is for those who are in 7th, and 8th grade. 


Confirmation class is a program designed to teach our youth the important basics of our faith. 

Class consist of the outline given by Martin Luther in the Small Catechism, Old Testament, Life of Jesus, and New Testament We attend Confirmation Camp during the summer. By the end second year the child confirms their faith during a worship service. Date TBA.


This program involves both the students and their parents or guardians. The 2021-2022 schedule is listed below.

Expectations

1) 7th and 8th Graders will serve as acolytes as scheduled. STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING THEIR OWN SUBSTITUTES WHEN THEY ARE UNABLE TO SERVE ON AN ASSIGNED DAY. WHEN THEY HAVE SECURED A SUBSTITUTE, THEY ARE TO INFORM THE CHURCH OFFICE.

2) Regular worship attendance is expected for all students. Parents/Guardians, your habits are the model your youth will follow.

3) Sermon Notes: All students will complete eight Sermon Notes in the Fall and eight Sermon Notes in the Spring.

4) Regular Sunday School attendance is expected for all students.

5) Students will complete 20 Service Points during the Confirmation year. These can be earned for service done at the church and in the community. Service points are to be reported on Sermon Note Sheets. (See “Examples of Service At Church and In the Community”)

6) All students are required to help with Feeding the Flock on Saturday, February 19.

7) Each student is required to attend one week of summer camp during his/her Confirmation years.

8) 8th Grade students will write a Statement of Faith during their final year in Confirmation (See “Guidelines for Your Faith Statement”). These will be read by the students in a service of worship on a Sunday before Confirmation Sunday.

9) Parents will chaperone at least one of the scheduled dances: HOMECOMING – 9/17/2021 & GLOW – 2/11/2022

10) Parents will sign up to attend at least two classes in the Fall and two classes in the Spring. Parents will serve as small group leaders.

11) Parents will sign up to help with meals.
